We are excited to feature the lovely Miss. Callie on our blog as a source of inspiration. Callie is Macy's identical twin sister (although many would disagree because of her lengthy auburn hair). We couldn't think of anyone better to be our first (real) post. We are very passionate about sharing her sweet existence with you
Callie is a student at UVU and more recently BYU, although she is a strong believer in people knowing that it is not your school or your studies that define you. Callie is all about expressing originality through artwork of various mediums, sharing her thoughtful insights, and spending time with the family dog, Otto. Growing up in Spanish Fork, we always had a gaggle of friend around and Callie was (and still is) the highlight of the Chapman home. She fills the air with cello music, and if not that its Beatles records, followed by Louie Armstrong. Mind you, it is played as loud as possible.
Callie currently is in Peru on an Archeological/Anthropology study. It has been thrilling receiving emails about her ventures and the beauty she is experiencing. In emails to Macy, she tells her about museum after museum she works in, fast paced moto-taxis, fields of sugarcane and the tedious endeavor of piecing together a skull belonging to an ancient Priestess, and several difficult skeletons (for more info). Callie's delicate attention to detail has been something that has followed her through life, and is now quite handy in her endeavors. She talks about the freedom of experiencing new lands, breathing Peruvian air, and feeling her existence in a new place. Callie especially loves that each one of the deceased humans she works with tells a story, a mystery yet to be discovered. She feels like she is a part of their path, and they are brought together miraculasly. Often she speaks of how remarkable it is to be able to be there, while pursuing something she has longed to do her entire life. Deeply seeded adventures of Indiana Jones, are finally being resurfaced. Callie loves being surrounded by familiar souls, but still loves the serenity of a quiet place, whether that be up the mountains or a nap in the sunshine. She dreams of old homes, heart-tugging songs, and adventuring with steady feet one step at a time. Callie loves to tell a story, she speaks and her soul is sensitive yet powerful.
Callie is tender, and pure. She is present in each moment, and finds herself drawn to things of simplicity and curiosity. In Callie's eyes the world still holds beauty, there is still so much to learn and do. Her notebooks are filled with her unique pen scratches, and intricate thoughts. As an artist, she captures it all encompassing it inside her and through her. But the best thing about Callie, is she knows how to laugh, remember, have hope, be brave, find faith, in all things.
